How do I make an adaptec 2840VL work under OS/2?

I have a system with 2 scsi disks that work well under
another adapter but I can't get it to work with my new 2840 under
OS/2.

I have 2 disk devices attached.

MAXTOR 7213
QUANTOM TRB850S

I have the latest aic7770.add drivers from adaptec's WEB page.
I keep getting the error message AIC7770 driver failed to load.

On bootup, it says the BIOS loads and the bios sees both
disks. But I keep getting the error message.

What /A parameter should I use? Should I count non scsi
adapters? I have a IDE adapter.

What SCSIselect options should I select?
Should I turn on the more than 2 disk drives option?
Should I use and unit parameters?
