Wonder someone has encountered problem with fax software on OS/2 ?
I am experiencing problem with receiving fax (via an internal card) on OS/2.
I have tried using BITFAX (for DOS) and FAXWORKS (for OS/2).
For BITFAX, the machine only answers the phone occasionally and not
consistently. For FAXWORKS, the machine never answers the phone. Both
applications can SEND FAX successfully. 

Other information:

- FAX applications are running in the foreground.
- Both software set to answer ALL calls after one ring.
- All other outlets of the phone line are disconnected.
- OS/2 boots up ok reporting COM3 is installed at 3E8 and using IRQ4.
- Tried COM_DIRECT_ACCESS on ON and OFF.
- Tried COM_HOLD to COM3 (COM3 and COM1 both using IRQ4 but nothing at COM1.)
- Tried RECEIVE_BUFFER on NONE AND INTERRUPT_ENABLE.
- MODEM CLASS set to CLASS 1 on both applications.
- Modem card is Hayes compatible and up to 14.4 fax and data.
- Tried the trick in the OS/2 book: Hide OS/2 com.sys declaration and
  rely on DOS's VCOM.SYS and DIRECT_COM_ACCESS to talk to the port.
- Tried booting the machine off DOS disk and run BITFAX to receive
    (still does not answer consistently)
- Tried using a different phone line (cause I have more than one line).

I think I am running out of things to try ...
