I have found, and reported over the last year or so, several distribution
file EXEs which produced very strange behaviour under the WPS.

In each case, the files seemed to have come from programmers using Open32.
That was as far as I could get on my own, and no one else seemed to have
anything further.

The files in question would not display their icons under FileStar/2, and
were virtually undeletable (or movable) from the directories they were
unzipped or otherwise installed into. I always had to boot to a pure
command line and DEL them.

Among these files were a Netscape202 build I snagged off testcase, a
WordPro96 update that came straight out of a Lotus distribution, some Star
Office files and some SS97 files, both of which I've disposed of here. They
were all EXEs, and none showed any attributes or EAs that appeared to be
causing it, to my limited view.

The EXEs all appeared to work normally, which is to say, adequately. Open32
does not produce code optimized for *my* machine, and I'm going to be doing
my best to avoid using it if possible.

I'd love to know what can make such an EXE unmovable under PMSHELL, but
easily movable otherwise. Might be useful, somehow.

Good luck,

Buddy
