I'm using a mixture of DOS and OS/2 stuff, so I do this all
the time. I've never had a complaint from the DOS-only
people that they couldn't unzip my zip files, except sometimes
from people using older versions of PKUNZIP.

As far as I know, the only important effect of -k is to
store file names in the 8.3 format. PKUNZIP wouldn't like
long file names. As for extended attributes: I'm not quite
sure what happens here, except that PKUNZIP seems to be
quite happy to ignore them. (Possibly -k is removing the
extended attributes; I've never checked this point.)
