There certainly are. I had a cyclic crosslink in my EA DATA. SF some weeks ago (a cluster pointed back to itself instead of the next cluster) and CHKDSK locked up completely, probably stuck forever in the cluster loop. I had to use DOS's CHKDSK to fix the cross link, and of course I lost all my EAs.... ---MS-DOS 6.2 seems to have a bug in CHKDSK, which finds imaginary faults in the directory paths. Other software seems to have no trouble negotatng directory paths. Not recommended to try to "fix" such non-errors, as directories/files may disappear. Suggest a disc repair program that makes an "undo" file, with which you can restore the original files/directory if anything goes wrong. As for OS/2 chkdsk, it reports a clean bill of health, but fails to pick up cross-linked files found by DR-DOS 6.
