our OS/2 system was crashing fairly regularly and complained about bas
sectors in the VM file. Took the Fujitsu drive to a mac where I've got
low-level SCSI tools and enabled SCSI bad-sector remapping. A short read
test soon caused 26 bad sectors to be remapped and OS/2 works fine. The
strange thing is I've been told OS/2 knows how to remap bad sectors. All I
can say it must've been having problems. It does surprise me that all SCSI
drives I've seen have bad-sector remapping disabled....
