installing OS/2 Warp Connect:

The system is stopped. Record all of the above information and
contact your service representative.

My system consists of the following:

  TMC PCI541T (Microcom?) PCI Motherboard
  Intel Pentium 100
  Intel Triton PCI Chipset
  AWARD BIOS (1995)
  32 Mb RAM
Conner CFS1275A 1 Gb Harddrive (Connected to first onboard IDE port)
S3 Vision 864 PCI Display Card (2Mb RAM)
Creative 4X Speed CDROM (Connected to second onboard IDE port)
Creative SoundBlaster 16 (with ASP upgrade)
    Addr       = 220
    Int        = 5
    DMA (Low) = 1
    DMA (high) = 5

I even tried disabling the external cache but to no avail, yhe above trap
still happened.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for replying to my own post, but the following needs to be added to
the original posting.

Sometimes the following trap occurs:

The system cannot find the file 'ibm1s506.add' this device
driver, program, or data file is not located in the default path or
the path specified for it in the CONFIG.SYS file. Install this file
in the correct directory or correct the appropriate CONFIG.SYS file
statement.
The system cannot find the file 'ibm2flpy.add' this device
driver, program, or data file is not located in the default path or
the path specified for it in the CONFIG.SYS file. Install this file
in the correct directory or correct the appropriate CONFIG.SYS file
statement.

> Both of the above files ARE on install disk 1 when the trap occurs.

>Try going into the Advanced section of your CMOS (usually entered by rebooting,
then holding the DEL key while it boots up. Press F1 if a keyboard error results),
and look for a listing that says ":300" or "0300" on the right. Change this to DOS1K,
or whatever looks close to this. This may not be it, but I've had several systems
that wouldn't install Warp until I did this, and generated various dump screens in
the meanwhile.

A few more ideas. If the above doesn't work, try the following: unplug the cd-rom's
data & power cables, & see if the trap error goes away. If it does, try putting the
cd-rom on the same cable as the hard drive, instead of on its own connector. Then
check the jumper setting on the back of it, make sure it's set to "slave". Then reboot,
press alt-f2 when you see the "os/2" block in the upper left corner. This will show you
the names of the drivers os/2 is loading in real time. That way, if you have a trap dump
again, you at least will have some idea as to what driver was loading when it happened.
If all this doesn't help you, I don't know what to suggest. Maybe a different brand of
cd-rom. BTW, it's a good idea to pull out any cards you don't need in your system while
doing the above diagnostics. The last thing you need is unrelated hardware conflicts
confusing you--they can make you come to errouneous conclusions.

Good God What the heck was THAT?!! Okay, this looks bad, first check the path
statements in the config.sys...make SURE the locations of those *.sys drivers ARE
available from the path (strange this since it should be unless someone played
around with your install disks...)
Those drivers you listed are for your floppy drive, CD-ROM and perhaps even your
hard-disk! If you've tried everthing, and still don't get any results try calling on
the Team OS/2 guys at http://www.teamos2.org/
