I have been having (new) problems with Selective Install. I'm trying to change my video driver from plain VGA back to the Cirrus Logic driver. Before I can change it my system completely hangs and I have to do a cold boot. Here's my hardware: 486-66 w/20 MB RAM Drive C: 340 MB IDE Drive D: 2 GB SCSI On the SCSI: CD-ROM External DAT tape drive Artisoft AE-2 Ethernet card (set to 0x320, not 0x300) The problem has been reported to IBM but they have not gotten back to me with a fix yet (I just called them yesterday, but I thought you guys might have an answer.) I also tried copying config.sys and autoexec.bat to D:\. That witchcraft did not work. Thanks for any help. - Keith -- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Keith Bennett Bennett Business Solutions, Inc. If I REM out all Lantastic and IAK TCP/IP statements from CONFIG.SYS, I can do the Selective Install without any problems whatsoever. So it just requires rebooting a couple of times. (I wish I didn't have to do that though.) - Keith -- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Keith Bennett Bennett Business Solutions, Inc. But I have not tried it myself. Jim jas@enterprise.uml.edu
