There is a very simple solution to this problem (I find it strange that no one has mentionned it yet) -- OS/2 Warp 3.0 has a function to disable saving changes to the desktop. It is a great tool for demos -- turn off saving the desktop, have the user do whatever he likes to the desktop, and when he's done having his fun, just reboot and you get your old settings back. Sounds perfect for young children at the computer, and since everyone is going to upgrade to Warp 3.0 anyway (you are going to upgrade, right?), you don't have to pay for specialty products to do the job for you. For anyone who would like to look, it is on the last page of the Desktop settings notebook.
