IBM works printed ok to the Laserwriter as did windows apps. Oops! Stopped by the Warp Pharmacy today. As I was reading the solution to my problem it occurred to me what I did to create it. When I installed my network card there was a conflict with my sound card. I disabled the sound card at the time because I didn't have time to fix the problem. I finally had time a few weeks ago. I changed the irq on the sound card (from the default 5) to 11 because I didn't think it conflicted with anything else. Lpt1 is supposed to be 7. Apparently 11 wasn't the right number because of the problems I had with the printer. When I removed /irq from the config.sys the printer worked properly (according to the Warp Pharmacy /irq sets the interrupt to 7, that's why I chose 11 for my sound card). Does anyone know how would the irqfor lpt1 could be set to 11 instead of 7? I don't know why an irq conflict didn't occur to me. Thank god for the Warp Pharmacy. Now I can try Star Office, go back to Describe, and say goodbye (and good riddance) to Word. Michael Smar College of Pharmacy South Dakota State University pc00@sdsumus.sdstate.edu
