Well, it doesn't sound like a problem with OS/2, since the error message
appears to occur before OS/2 begins loading (indicated by the white block in
the upper left corner of the screen.)

I just bought a 2840 and plan on installing it this weekend. I'll see if
anything happens with my setup.

Btw. the most recent 284x drivers can be found at
ftp://ftp.adaptec.com/pub/BBS/os2/7700os2.exe.

The .ADD file in this package is dated 09-06-95.
