I installed the new version of emx last night (.8f) and it appears that GNU make 3.62 has died. I looked in make.exe and discovered it was compiled with emx .8b, so the new .DLL's are probably incompatible with the old compiler. Murphy's law got me because I tested all of the commands except make (doing 1 line compiles entered from the command line) and of course make had to break. Put simply, I need a make that is compatible with the new emx. I cannot build make from the sources myself because I need make to make make (arghhh!) John
