Snip
I've come in awfully late, and apart from the subject line I really don't know
what the problem is. BUT. Let me throw in my cent's worth.
I have a Pentium system with two HDDs and a CDD. the PCI board has two
EIDE ports, described as primary and secondary. On lesser systems the SB16
or such card can installed as the secondary port and OS/2 will find it. I had
installed my HDDs on the primary and secondary ports and attached the CDD to
the SB16 and OS/2 couldn't find it. I check the switches on the card, then
reconfigured it as the fourth IDE port, still without success.
Finally, I attached both HDDs to the primary EIDE port, making approriate
changes to the HDD jumpers, and returned the CDD to the secondary port.
I discovered the CDD was recognised, and I now had it installed as (it think)
a Panasonic CF41. At least the brand was right. However, the support worked
well enough for me to reinstall the software support.
Since then, I've checked the documentation for IBM1S506.ADD (help IBM1s506)
and discovered some switches to speciify IRQ and port. I think you need
to load have a second copy of the driver. Here's what it says.
This device driver provides support for MFM, RLL, ESDI, and IDE hard disk controllers on
non-Micro Channel industry standard devices.
In the majority of cases, the IBM1S506.ADD driver will determine parameters automatically.
The following parameters are provided in case it is necessary to override the default
parameter selection.

Check the /P and /IRQ switches. And let me know whether this helps.
