I think the CL 4x is a Panasonic 574B, which is what I have at present. It
came with drivers for OS/2.

Besides the normal cdrom drivers that OS/2 installs you will need the
following file and statement in config.sys
BASEDEV=IBMIDECD.FLT

Which is the IDECDROM filter for the ST506 driver.
Also mine uses the following:BASEDEV=MKEATAPI.ADD

Now if you like email me and I'll uuencode the file and send it to you via
email.

Other than this play around with whether the drive will run as primary or
secondary etc, just stuff around with the jumpers.

Also to check the loading of device drivers at startup (when the little white
square is in the top corner) press ALT & F2 and it then shows each driver
being loaded.

Email if you need more help.

Craig

170/15 doesn't sound familiar to me, but I'd have to go back and check.
I've moved mine to be master on the SB16 with the SB16 as configured from
the factory (tertiary, I think).

I'm a bit confused here; I installed the Panasonic drivers (CR574-B) because
that was the drive bundled with my 4X Soundblaster package. It had an
install script that was well and truly screwed up, asking for the wrong
disks (as you've suggested) -- it took a bit of deciphering to figure out
what was going on. If indeed it's the Panasonic driver you're trying to
install, email me and I'll pack up what I finally managed to install (the
original driver package, 57XOS2.EXE, is hopeless).

If in fact this is *not* the driver you're trying to install, I can't help.

I think mine is MKE574somethingorother.ADD. Once I got it working, it's
done well (very well).

Good luck!
