Subject: MS Word/Runoff Converter?? Newsgroups: comp.os.vms Organization: The World, Public Access Internet, Brookline, MA Summary: Keywords: This is being posted to comp.os.vms, comp.os.ms-windows.apps.word-proc, and bit.mailserv.word-pc. Let me know if the following rather strange request should be posted elsewhere as well... I routinely write design specs for my work. My tool of choice has been MS Word for Windows 6.0. However, for reasons too obscure to go into, I have been requested to produce this documentation in DSR (Digital Standard Runoff) I have worked with DSR in the past, and would very much prefer *not* to have to go back to it if there is another way. The question is: Does anyone know of some tool which would convert (in essence, "de-compile") a Word document and create an ASCII text file with imbedded DSR commands? Or for that matter, a tool which does the opposite -- take a text file with DSR commands, and convert it to a Word file, using "standard" (NORMAL.DOT) style formats. I suppost this utility could exist either on the VMS machine or on the PC. Does such a utility exist? Is this totally nuts?? Please respond via email, as well as to the newsgroup(s) if appropriate.
