HP ScanJet 2CX: Replacement or Alternative Drivers?

This scanjet 2 driver is FUNKEY! It doesn't memorize your sharpening settings and requires you to exit it each time to deliver the image to the calling app. This really slows stuff down when you want to scan a bacth of stuff. Does anyone make a faster driver or an app that supports the scanner directly (I run it under ASPI on my main Adaptec 2940 SCSI channel)? And I think I am using the 2.2 version of the driver. I have downloaded the 2.3 driver (I think those are the current version #'s). WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE CURRENT DRIVER and the PREVIOUS version? Speed? Features?. Please... do share. And, what are the best utilities for doing a paperless office scanning and filing process. Any shareware? Or is it all commercial software? Any recommendations would be great. Any recommendations would be great. Thanks The key to paperless office is in document management. You might get all the components shareware but integrating them is the trick. I liked Watermark, which allowed a networked scan - view - annotate - file - print paradigm for a small volume operation such as executive mail processing. It also is integrated into larger scale doc handlers such as those that do complete case law storage. http://www.tiac.net/users/watermar/index.html -- Jim Armstrong <jma2@erinet.com> - Office Information Technologies, Inc - PO Box 2025 Fairborn, OH 45324

Sorry folks!
I only checked to see that the page was there (and I did get to it) but I
didn't realise that there were no links to specific products or
services... the thing having been "under construction" for the last 7
months!
This is essentially all the info you'll get from the page;
Main number - (617) 229-2600
Technical Support - (617) 270-7910
Bulletin Board - (617) 229-5789
Fax Number - (617) 229-2989
Believe me, their software is better than their PR or network integration
skills.

Hi!
The HP2cx Driver for Windows _DOES_ remember your sharpening settings:
Just create your own printing-path where this Information is stored.
