Here at the university there is a LAN. I've never used lan before but I was able to find out from bootup disk that it uses a 3C503 adapter and NetBios protocol. Someone here told me that the LAN is connected to a cisco router so it should be connected to the internet. I've got some software (wollongong i think) but i wasn't able to run it to work. I think that the problem is that the LAN is talking NetBios while the internet is TCP/IP. I think that probably the cisco is doing the translation between the two protocols. Now I don't know if I can make my software 'talk' NetBios so I'll be able to use the IBM to connect to the internet. Any ideas? Since I'm new to networking stuff, can any1 tell me where i can get FAQ lists or any help files for networks?? Thanks, Zrachya
