uucp 'f' protocol for SCO XENIX
#390

My configuration: SCO XENIX/386 2.3.3 using Hayes SM2400 on residential
                   telephone line.

A potential mail site needs to connect to me via an outdial mechanism
that strips the eight bit. uucp 'g' protocol obviously won't work.
However, 'f' protocol which apparently is a 7-bit protocol does not
appear to be supported by SCO XENIX/386 2.3.3. Is there a solution?
Is there a f-protocol add-on for SCO XENIX? Is there some other fix
we are overlooking?

Please reply via e-mail and I will post a summary of responses.

Thanks for any and all assistance.

I received responses from the following people:

	jlaiho@ichaos.nullnet.fi (Juha Laiho)
	ian@airs.com (Ian Lance Taylor)
	irscscm!bogart!phzzzt!mfaurot@next32.isnet.com (Michael Faurot)
	chip@chinacat.unicom.com (Chip Rosenthal)

They all recommended I look into the Taylor uucp implementation which
should be portable to a XENIX/386 platform and which does support the
'f' protocol. My thanks to all of these folks for their assistance.
