Hello, We here in the Payloads community of NASA's Kennedy Space Center are in the process of enhancing our network management awareness through the use of SNMP managers. At the moment, we are trying to decide whether we should allow Read/Write access within our community or whether Read Only access is sufficient to run our SNMP manager stations SunNet Manager and HP Openview. Can some informed person explain to us the difference and perhaps the ramifications of making this decision? Perhaps explain what capabilities will be loose by disabling write access? Thanks! -- - Michael D. Myjak Senior Technical Specialist, Systems Analyst McDonnell Douglas Space Systems Company Kennedy Space Center, Fl., 32815 MYJAK@TITAN.KSC.NASA.GOV Gravity. It's not just a good idea. Its the LAW!
