We have been working too long and too hard on the Beholder II. We completely forgot to tell you what it is all about. ;-) Well, the Beholder II is a network monitor compliant with the RMON 'standard'. For now, it only has 3 additional groups, but in the near future it will include support for network and host profiling (beyond number of packets and octets) and support for auto-discovery of network configuration. Currently, only Ethernet is supported but TokenRing will be added soon (FDDI will take longer). For those who are interested in the availability of the Beholder, the executables are completely free and most likely the complete sources will be free too. Alas, no rewards for those who guessed it right. Richard. -- -- ir.
