I have to go along with this one. What has happened is that all would-be crackers have been informed that there is yet another hole, and they have been told where to begin working. We admins, on the other hand, have been told there is a hole, where it is, but not what to do. I for one sure as hell can't spend a whole lot of time trying to figure this one out. No matter when disclosure is made, there will be cases where hackers will find out before all admins have, no matter how it is done. Better to keep it quiet until full disclosure can be given, and the patch is ready, tested, and implemented on a number of systems.
