In article <DF8FE3.97H@news.cern.ch>, loreti@axcdf1.pd.infn.it (Maurizio Loreti) writes
: ... To have a
: clear indication of where exactly a break(n) jumps, would it not be
: better to write it "break <label>"? And what is that construct? A
: GOTO WITH A DIFFERENT NAME.
No more, no less, than "while", "switch", "if" also are.
The important differens between "goto" and suggested "break <label>" is
context: a "goto" and its label mai hav almost anie relativ pozition
within the function, but "break" and its label hav no such freedom.

Plz not misinform such poor souls with the notion that there can be
nothing better than "goto" in such case; Awozniak@Galaxy.csc.calpoly.edu
is on the right track.

This discussion is quite old nou; look through postings no more than
three weeks old in "comp.std.c". There hav been excellent suggestions.
