Are you serious?
So *that's* why my BJC600 was cleaning its heads after printing every line?
And why it sometimes went OK again for a while (perhaps after I turned off
the mains)?

I gave up using it and bought a Laser Printer.
Haven't used it for about a year so its print heads are probably bunged up
beyond recovery now.
