the SCSI-version is allmost as fast as the internal IDE-HD. The par.
version is logically a tad slower (I gues about half as fast as a
SCSI-2 connected). Of course it all depends on the i/f you're using.

e.g. On my A410 with uncached Morley it goes about 600Kb/s (a bit
*faster* than the internal ST-506 40MB HD :-) ). On my StrongARM-
Risc PC it goes about 1300KB/s (more or less the same as my IDE 400MB
hd)

If you consider a zipdrive I think it's worthwile to invest in the
SCSI-version and a SCSI-card. Though I think that Syquest are a lot
more secure especially since ZIP-drives cause a lot of problems on
the Acorn platform (see my posting about ZIP and powertec a few days
back in c.s.a.hardware)

I wouldn't by them again if I could redo things...

Iomega is a dumbass company whom doen't respond to email, faxes nor
telephones... it's 0900 call nos. are usually unmanned and if you
happen to find someone picking up the phone they have absolutly no
fucking idea what you're talking about... especially when you tell
them that you're NOT running windows :-(

A typical American company.... I guess that Syquest isn't any better.

because PC-loosers are allways looking at the best bargains (instead
of a decent product...why would they be PC-looser...huh) and ZIP-
drives are cheaper then syquests. This has nothing to do about "how
good they are". Zipdrives are for the misers. Another toy to sell to
the PC-mass...
