I'm supprised at this, I would have though the 19" being a new size that they would have used the newer tube technologies. > For 1200x1024 you can get very good performance from a top of the range > 17inch, they will boast 1600x1200 but take this with a large pinch of > salt, what they can display and what you would want to look at are two > totally different things. Well I'm quite happy with 1600x1200 on my AKF85 (well the refresh could be a bit better but thats my VIDCs limit). Addmittedly this is down to the larger a-a fonts on the RISC OS desktop, you could never use it for Windows at this res due to the non a-a fonts with 1 pixel wide strokes. So I dont need a fantastic top of the range monitor, as I can usually get away with one step up from what it is spec'd at. With Phoebe I'm likely to be running at 1152x896x32, 1600x1200x16 and something like 2048x1536x8. I want about the same physical dots per inch at 2048x1526 as I have at 1600x1200 on the 17", so this probably does mean a 21". So anyone recommend any 21"'s? Make sure you quote prices, as after Pheobe and Peanut the Acorn gold card is going to be a bit stressed! ---druck
