I emailed Iiyama about this very subject around a month ago, and got a
reply within 24 hours -- most impressive.
Anyway, the reply didn't ask me to keep the contents of the email
hush-hush, so let me quote the relevent part of the email:
\begin{reply}
Unfortunatley, iiyama does not manufacture a DiamondTron 19" monitor at
the present moment. The manufacturers of the DiamondTron tube
(Mitsubishi) are developing a new technology called The Natural Flat
CRT, which iiyama shall adopt when completed, but we do not expect to
launch any products until late in the year. I am unaware of any 19"
DiamondTron products, although Sonys Trinitron technology works along
the same lines. It is aperture grille technology, but uses a one gun,
three beam system instead of a three gun, three beam system as the
DiamondTron, so maybe you could view one and see what you think.
\end{reply}
I am saving my pennies as I speak...
Cheers
James
