I've tried this and it don't work for me:-(

 actual instructions/text used...

   </a href=/Progs/test.arc>Test download</a>

used in 'index.html' (Home page in intial directory for my site)
The actual test prog was uplaoded in directory...

    ADFS:<discname>.$.Progs.test (with file type 'arc')
(Acorn format used above; see below sig for explanation for non Acorn users:-)

The anchor words 'Test Download' do appear as a 'Link' (Using ArcWeb:-)
but instead of the archive being dloaded, a search for a document is
performed; 'error: file not found' is reported

Let me know what you think of this, my 1st attempt at html
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''

   "ADFS" Fileing system used
":" Seperator used between filing system and <discname>
"$" Root directory of drive being used
"." Seperator used between directories *and* files
"<discname>" Name of the disc being used

NOTE..................The file type is not shown as part of the files 'address'
but is stored totally seperate and shown by way of an
icon. One icon for each file type. (When seen via the GUI)

=========================== I hope you understand:-) ================================
ps: I could write a book... ...but won't:-)
