On SX-1 the memory jumpers check:
1)the *number* of the memory banks (1 or 2)
2)The dimension of memory banks (4 or 8mb)

To use a 8 mega SIMM you have to set the jumper 1 ON and the jumper 2 ON

2*4=8 :)

The only problem is the revision of the SX-1 Some revisions mount a diagonal SIMM socket
while others take the SIMM vertically in the socket. if you have the first, you won't able to fit a double
sided SIMM (like 8mb simms are), as it will touch the chips and won't fit.
