Yes!!
I've done it!!
And it works again and again and again!!!
Some of you may have heard of the problem (HD going at 22k/sec)
and some of you may even know of a strange bug on some software
that causes the hardware to go bananas.
Thus create the data fluctuations to speed the HD up again.
But until know these bugs have been inconsistant, requiring
certain circumstances to happen, these unfound.
Setup: CD32, SX-1 (v3), Two Speakers plugged into headphone jack,
Modem, Disk Drive, HD, extra 4meg SIMM, A2000 keyboard.
Here's what I did:
1. Booted Virtual Karting playable demo (this one was the one on AP).
2. I let the demo go round the track, and play for about 5 seconds.
3. I rebooted using Amiga Amiga + Ctrl.
This will make the screen go bazerk, not just reboot.
4. Amiga Amiga + Ctrl AGAIN.
5. HD will now go at PROPER SPEED.
This will work on warm reboots (AA + C), but will go again upon the
computer being powered down.
SIDE EFFECT: Battery Backed up Clock will be reset to 1978 as per
no battery every time this is done. But this is a little
disadvantage compared to the speedup achieved.
Stu. :)
