Hi Dan, dritter@direct.ca (dan ritter) wrote: :Well I think the problem here is the speed of the machine. Not the OS. The :machine you're running that on is really no faster than an original Amiga :1000 made back in 1985. Sure, they improved the graphics by adding more chip :ram and an ECS graphics chipset. But the speed of the computer is the same. :That's why I would recommend an accelerator. The OS is not the problem here. : :L8ter 8-] I think that both have there problems and here is why I think that: I have a A-500 1MEG Chip RAM, GVP A-530 (63030/40, 4MEGS 32-bit Fast RAM). When I upgraded to OS 3.1 not to long ago from 2.1, I noticed that the OS was now using alot more CPU time then the older OS. So I agree that he could use a accelerator, but diffinetly needs one it he goes to a newer OS. This being the case, if we do see OS 4.x, then without question he would need one at this rate. But if he desides that he doesn't want a accelerator, then he might be better off not getting a OS upgrade. Just some thoughts on the matter, Michael (shotgun@slip.net)
