Hi,

I don't have the original post to read, so judging from what I was able to
read, here are a couple of ideas to make the old Workbench look better.

If you have 2.1 or better, I would change the screen size to as big as you
can get away with. In my case I have OS 3.1, running HiRes NTSC Lace in 16
colors. I over scanned the screen, so I have a 662x430 screen. Now this is not
the best, but it was the best I could do.

Get on to AmiNet and download the file IGX30.lha (I think it is called). If
you can't find it, use the search and look for Iconographics, this is a
freeware package.

Iconographics is a package of nicely drawn icons (drawers, tools, etc.). It
comes with a working installation script and options to select which icons you
want to change.

I will keep all tooltypes and the location of the original icon. It also
comes with a drag and drop installer for icons not included in the original
Workbench disks. It is very easy to use.

You might also want to look for another package called useless.lha (I think it
is called). Again, do a search. In this package you will find more nicely
drawn icons for all sort of useless topics. I found some not so useless :) .

I did what I just mentioned here and it didn't give me 256 colors, but it sure
made my Workbench appear to be of 1993 vintage, not 1986.
