So what happens when you normally run a ProDOS 8 program from GS/OS?
From the way you describe it, things like the Desktop Utilities screen
blanker and Prosel-16 Appointment Calendar would be disabled, but they
still work.
Let's suppose I run a stack in HCGS that has a button to run Proterm.
Proterm runs, I do my stuff, and quit. GS/OS is reloaded, HCGS is reloaded,
the stack is reloaded and desk accs/inits don't get clobbered. Why can't
we substitute kernel=HCGS, gsh=stack, bg processes=desk accs in the above
example? GNO would suspend everything, reserve a bit of memory for itself
so it knows what to do when it gets back control of the computer (like
HCGS), then run ProDOS 8. There has to be a way to do this, even if it
means grabbing all memory above 128K and letting ProDOS 8 use only the
first two banks.
