I'm sorry to lurch into this group as it were, but I have only just
discovered it, and I have a couple of really pressing questions to ask
of the gathered "net-wisdoms".
In particular, I'm after a screen editor, (other than sedt which I
have and dislike immensely), for my Rainbow 100 that I can use to
write code and the like. I'm running MS-DOS 2.11, and although I have
managed to get some IBM-PC things working, (Turbo Pascal v.2 was a
real triumph), screen editors seem to be in a class of their own.
I have tried both mg, (an emacs clone), and elvis but neither seems to
be able to handle the screen.
Secondly, I was wondering what technical documentation for the Rainbow
is available, and how easy it might be to get hold of. I have the
MS-DOS manuals, but given the fact that there are obvious
incompatibilities with 'standard' PCs, I would like to know what these
are, and how I might go about working around them.
Many thanks in advance,
Michael.
