Don't expect to be able to make copies of DBASE until the court
decision goes all the way to certiorari and either the Supreme
Court rules on it or declines to decide.

This also causes another thicket: if DBASE is held non-copyrightable,
which versions are or are not protected, and does the loss of
protection include the manuals or just the software.

If this is upheld, I for one might go over to the copyright office and
see about getting a copy of the source listing, whatever they
have there.

Has A-T stated that they intend to take it to the courts?

Use a FOSSIL and you won't have to worry about. Not only that, but
anything you write for a Rainbow comm port will work on an IBM
with FOSSIL.

I think that was the one that was bundle with the 'Rainbow Office'
software, WPS+, some networking, other neat things that you
couldn't use without a megabucks VAX.
