Hope this is not a dumb one:

I recently got a DS5000/133, with PXG+. The system came with Ultrix 4.3, and
Motif etc, but not much of standard X. I got a copy of xterm from the
local Andrew system here, but there is a slight problem: I can not resize
the xterms, resize complains about " can't open terminal /dev/tty ", I
checked the /dev/tty**, they were not owned by me. I tried, but did not
succeed in fixing it.

   Any hints, or pointers from experts will be greatly appreciated,
