i forwarded this article to my friend who is a preservation librarian
for the reserach libraries group. she said it is quite a good
description of how to preserve manuals.  she also recommended Book-Lab
in austin, TX, who performs archival photocopying for libraries and
will probably take jobs from individuals as well.
