Until Adaptec comes out with a new driver (I was told by them 4 weeks ago that it would be out in 2 weeks) the only thing you can do is adjust the LASTDRIVE statement. This will only work if you are not on a network and do not need to map network drives and if you do not have other cdrom(s) on the same scsi bus. For most people, the eight drives do not present a problem. Keep beating up on Adaptec and HP, tell them to stop blaming each other and get the problem solved. This is a well known problem and has been around for about 3 months now. regards, Jerry Schonewille San Jose, California, USA jerry@polymore.com
