I'm the proud owner of a ~5 year old HP DAT drive (Model C1502-69203), the 1.3 (2?) GB model. Anyhow, over the years, it's gotten a little out of whack, and is in need of adjustment ... the tape doesn't quite clean the capstan when ejected, and, well, snaps. The mechanism is Sony, so, I called Sony in San Jose, and they told me that since it was an HP OEM, they wouldn't touch it. Ok, so I call HP, and the person I spoke to wouldn't answer any of my questions without my service contract number. Well, seeing as how I purchased this drive used with my hp380, I don't _have_ a service contract number. So, I'm looking for a place that will adjust/repair this HP/Sony DAT drive, somewhere in the Bay Area ... Anywhere from San Jose to San Francisco is fine. I'd also like to know how much I can expect to pay for service on such a device. Replies via e-mail are preferred, but I read these groups, too. Thanx muchly! -- Jason R.
