Yes mostly microwave and analog amplifier design though.

Im an EE also - so what? If you think you can design better then get some
money and start your own company. That statement is so un-technical and
biased. This has nothing to do with my original statement - you are just
trying to argue which is better because you want to argue that with someone.

Design from nothing is a lot harder than design from spec and standard. AMD
had time to look over the Intel design with a fine tooth comb and make
improvements. I never said the P2 chip was better price/performance - thats
the arguement you want to start because thats all you want to argue about.
My whole original point was that Intel is not ripping people off - they are
spending more money on design and manufacturing and expect to get that money
back in higher prices.

So im the idiot then huh? Calling names is immature. Would you say that to
someone's face? You feel like you can just insult people because you are
anonymous. People like you need to spend more time in church and less time
reading newsgroups and insulting people because they differ in opinion from
you. Sure you can take pot shots at Intel and anyone who makes a post. Why
you feel you need to is another matter.

That the Intel archetecture is more expensive which accounts partially for
the higher cost - my whole point of the original post. Im not argrueing
which cpu is better. You cant seem to figure that out. Im argueing that the
increased cost is due to higher design and chip cost to produce. Ive said
twice in my posts that the AMD chips like K6-2 can not be compared fairly to
the P2 since they came out much later and should be better price/performance
just like any technology. Every single product that comes into the
electronics marketplace is better price/performance than the previous
technology. Why this makes Intel the evil guy is beyond me. They design the
product and the spec, and get their chips to market sooner at a higher cost.
The fact that you missed this point shows me how blind you are to what I am
saying.

Ahh, another insult. Thanks a lot for being such a good person.
