I, too, am interested in this. I have pretty much eliminated
the Triton boards, though. Most of them are not actually
available yet. The few that are, are expensive. Neptune
seems to be much more mature. Triton has only one technical
advantage that I have so far identified, and that is that
the Triton PCI interface is faster, and that framebuffer
performance is usually faster on Triton.

Of the Neptune boards, many people posting here seem to have
either Intel Premiere II (Plato) boards, or ASUS boards.
Besides Intel Neptune and SiS, there are boards based on
the Opti chipset. Comments out there on which chipset is
better?

What about the BIOS? Do any of these boards support
Fast ATA-2 in the BIOS? Fast ATA-2 drives are now
available. Which BIOS is more flexible? Can all
the BIOSes set wait-states? Support large (> 528 MB)
drives?

What about documentation- are all the boards well-
documented, including all the little switches,
BIOS settings, etc.

How about board layout? Can they all take at least
7 full-sized boards (I know some boards have 4 PCI and
4 ISA - others share a slot - and some slots are for
small boards only).

What about performance - are there any significant
performance differences between the various motherboards?
(And, presumably, chipsets?)
