AMERICAN INFORMATION NETWORK RELEASES ADD-ON-DOOR FOR BBS MARKET
Canton, Ohio - January 31, 1995 - The American Information Network has
just released an add-on door for use with almost any BBS platform
on the market. The "Interface" as it is titled, will allow callers to
access an ever growing mass of PUBLIC RECORD information, at increased
profits for the SYSOP.
The basic interface package from AIN includes an online Nationwide
Name/Address/Phone directory. This is not a CD-ROM system. The
information is received over a 1-800 line from a network of many large
database systems, such as DMV records, census, magazine subscriptions
and city telephone directories throughout the nation. All of which are
updated on a daily basis assuring accurate up-to-date results. One of
the eight standard features is named EDA: Electronic Directory
Assistance. This system works from the same computers as the local 411
operator, just as if you talked to him/her directly. A phone number cross
reference and an address identifier are also included in the basic package.
You can search by City, State or Nation using as little as a Last Name.

BOOK TEACHES PRESCHOOLERS ABOUT EXTRATERRESTRIALS
DESPITE MILITARY ATTEMPTS TO SILENCE AUTHOR
Sparks Debate Among Psychologists
COLUMBUS, Miss., Jan. 23 - Ignoring what she says were "threats at
gunpoint" to keep silent about her abductions by "chalky- colored
creatures with big black eyes," an educator has published an illustrated
book to ease young children's fears about extraterrestrials.
Based on author Leah Haley's personal experiences, "Cato's New Friends"
has psychologists debating the wisdom of depicting "ETs" as friendly.
"Had I been taught about aliens as a child, I would have suffered less
trauma from my encounters," says Haley, who was declared sane by all three
therapists she saw to seek a "cure" for memories of abductions by aliens.
"The government's policy for blacking out news of these experiences causes
a lot of fear."

Accidentally deleting or overwriting files, or sections within files, is
avoided because Boris automatically saves copies of all important files which
can be retrieved instantly when needed. With Boris, there's no need for
maintaining multiple backup copies of critical files as they are revised, and
the tedious task of also inventing several different file names for each new
draft is eliminated.

IS TECHNOLOGY OUTPACING THE COMPUTER MANAGER?
NEW YORK, Jan. 24 - "Ready for action and stressed to kill." That's a fair
enough way to describe many technology managers today who must master more
knowledge in more areas than ever before. Confronting vast new arrays of
technologies are daunting enough -- client-server, EDI, multi-media,
telecommunications, telecommuting, telephony and tel-a-spouse-I-won't-be-
home-for-dinner are a few. The successful information Systems (IS) manager
must also deal with information as knowledge, and not just "data."
Graphical user interface design must now encompass the psychology of
"human" interface design factors. With Internet now connecting the
enterprise to the world, the IS manager is now the customs officer at the
border. A good Information Technology manager is key to business strategic
planning, and what business isn't planning on doing more with less.

SMALL BUSINESS CONSULTANTS MAJOR CONCERN FOR 1995:
WHO WILL TAKE OVER FROM AGING ENTREPRENEURS?
NEW YORK, Jan. 25 - The question of who will take over the helm as the
corporate and entrepreneurial leaders of the 1970s and 1980s reach
retirement age will be a major concern at every level of American business
in 1995, according to a survey of CPAs conducted by the Management
Consulting Services Division of the American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants (AICPA).
Over 58 percent of respondents to the survey, which was sent to more than
4,200 consultants in every area of the country, ranked inadequate succession
planning as the biggest threat facing businesses with sales of under $3
million over the next 12 months. The chief problem for larger companies, more
than 38 percent of the consultants said, will be environmental regulations;
succession planning will be the number two concern for such companies,
according to almost one-third of respondents.

desktop market: the touchpad.
According to new research conducted by BIS Strategic Decisions, 70% or more
