Hi, I'm looking into a cell-phone/laptop situation and the obvious
thing to want to do is to have a modem for the laptop that deals with
a regular land-line and also plugs into a cellphone.

I've found such modems, but they are all PCMCIA modems. Are there any
non-PCMCIA modems that can work with a cell-phone?

The laptop has not been purchased yet, but needs to be soon. I didn't
think it would need a PCMCIA slot, so I was planning on not getting
one. But if that's the only way a cellphone/modem thing is going to
happen, then I need to buy it with the PCMCIA slot.

Any comments or advice appreciated!
