On my particular machine, if I mix 60ns and 70ns RAM, I do see a
significant slowdown under Windows 95. I'm running a 486-33 with 16MB
of 60ns RAM and that works fine. In Win95 when the "start" menu
button is clicked it appears instantly, as it should. But when I put
the 4MB of 70ns RAM which came with the machine it takes about 3
seconds before I see the "start" menu once it's selected. Only after
numerous attempts at tackling the slowdown problem did I realize that
it was the mix of RAM chips that was causing it.
