The problem of uninterested employees is not just restricted to best buy.
There are good and bad everywhere.  Some people just want a paycheck.  Your
typical grunt employee doesn't own the company.  Technically they represent
the company, but that doesn't mean they care.  People always go into stores
and equate anyone behind the desk with the entire company itself.  It's just
a person, probably bored to tears waiting for quitting time :-).

It depends on the person.  I guess it's hard to really know who is right for
the job because anyone going into an interview is going to try to be
enthusiastic and so forth.  Once they're hired, they'll settle into their
natural state.

You just learn to appreciate those nice people who know what they are
talking about and care enough to voluteer information and help you out.
