If your cable isn't fairly new (e.g. 1284) then your old cable might
as well be made out of string.  And, when it causes you problems
you're going to think the store sold you a junk printer.  Maybe the
salesboy didn't know why some printer cables work well and
why others don't, but he's not paid enough to know such details.
