Better to keep a >customer than loose one. Depends on the customer. We had a guy that hit Computer City and then us. What he would do would buy a computer, use it for 14 days, and then return it. Started to do the same thing to us, so we denied his access to our store (enforced by the LP personnel). Rules are not might to be broken and in the woman's situation, there was absolutely no good reason to break the rules for her, none what-so-ever. If you really want, I can explain why the 30 days exist. All stores have areas that are "planogrammed". About every few months, they change, and so does the product line. Stores only have a certain amount of time to send product back to the manufacturer. So, if Joe Blow brings back a radio that had be discontinued for over a month, the store is out of luck. They cannot receive a credit anymore and must sell the product at a reduced price, thus, they lose money (but, they have a happy customer, so it's Bottom Line vs. Happy Customer). >Have noticed more retailers getting bitchy toward their customers >lately, whatever happened to customer is always right. Do you run your own business? If not, I would really like to use that philosophy when shopping at your store. The customer is NOT always right. In fact, customers have LIED about me, saying things I never said. I am a Christian and there is right and wrong. I will stand for what's right, if I gave the customer wrong advice, I'll admit. But if I didn't, I will fight my ground with them. >Had an unpleasant Best Buy prive match experience lately (one day past their >14 days) so, although I am generally pleased with purchases there, I'll punish them >by making my next few purchases elsewhere. Well, with $8 billion and them at the number one spot in the electronics realm, let's assume the average transaction is $100. You just cost them 1/80000000 in sales. They're hurting now! =) > Thus they'll probably loose more profit that they >would have gained by accomadating me. Maybe, depends on what your buying. If it is a computer, no. Audio stuff, yes.
