At the risk of abuse and causing heated arguments, I would like to say that it seems that in New Zealand, NT has about 70% of market share in NEW networks going in. That's NOT counting people upgrading from Novell 3.x to 4.x, because that's an upgrade, not a new install. I know that's pedantic, but there's been a few bun-fights about "illegal marketing" and "tampering with market survey's" and stuff. Also, New Zealand is predominantly smaller companies (>50 people), who DON'T want to employ a system administrator. NT is pretty easy to administer, being GUI, and that's a big selling point. Also an interesting note - the main Novell distributor in the NZ market (Datamatic) have dropped the Novell distributorship. Hmmm. How it relates to the CNE/MCSE debate is that MCSE's (especially those with experience) are in extremely short supply, and are paid as such. CNE's are a dime a dozen. With the company I work for, Our CNE's (eight of them) have admittedly done 4-5 upgrades, but as far as I know, only two NEW Netware 4.1 LANs. I personally have installed over a dozen new NT Lan's in the last 8 months. There's another couple of nearly-MCSE's that have done one or two as well. Having said all that, I'm an MCSE, with nine years industry experience behind me, three of that with NT. I'm thinking of getting stuck into Novell 4.11 - Green River. It sounds pretty interesting. It's also GUI, so that means I don't have to learn how to type ;-) -- Darren Wiseman darrenw@southmark.co.nz Andre Starkloff <de55stk@deccmail.snads.philips.nl> wrote in article <3222955D.197D@deccmail.snads.philips.nl>... > Who??????? wrote: > > > > I'm thinking of getting a certificate for either > > Novell or Microsoft or both. > > Which one do you think is better?
