I'm now using my PCs purchased at an Akihabara, Tokyo's computer shop town
of IBM Thinkpad, as I need to use the double byte characters like Russian, Japanese
and etc.

Before my departure from Japan, someone let me know that it's allowed for the
employees to smoke inside of IBM Japan's office/plant buildings, while all other
competitors never allow their employees to smoke inside.

I assume that's why OS/2 has the significant problems. Actually, on my PC, OS/2
started its deadly troubles, which finally deleted the icon of Internet Connection
automatically, and, thru the discussion with the service representattives in Japan,
I had to reformat the harddisk and to install all softwares including DOS, Windows,
OS/2 Warp, MS-Office and etc. It took almost 24 hours.

On the other hand, my friend's Compaq Presario and Prolinea are doing well
with no trouble.

I wish someone can give the right answer to my question -- why IBM is allowing
smoking in the offices and its relation with the numbers of the hardware/software
troubles.

Best regards,
