I have a dx2-66 without LBA on BIOS. I am able however to speicify more than 1023 cylinders on my BIOS. I also have an EIDE I/O card (no builtin BIOS though). What I would like to do is to get myself an 800Mb conner hard disk. DOS can only support up to 500Meg. So I was wondering, if I could do the following: 1> Specify the hard disk numbers on my BIOS ie cyl >1023. 2> use DOS fdisk and partition off the first 400Mb for DOS 3> Install WARP HPFS on the next 200Mb (I've heard WARP allows >1023 cylinders) 4> Install Linux on the last 200Mb (I've heard Linux allows >1023). Any one with useful help? I would rather not have to buy yet another I/O card. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Johnnie Chan WWW: http://www.bath.ac.uk/~ma2jswc/home.html/ | | EMail: johnnie@jchan.demon.co.uk, ma2jswc@bath.ac.uk (until Sept 1995) | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
