Merrick Wee again First off all have to clarify what I ment by saying that DPT kicks ass over adaptec. Speed was not even the reason. 1. They have the best tech support of anyone that I've ever seen. - the operators aren't computer illiterate and if you've got a problem with your system, even if it probably isn't the controller, they will help research the prob - at least in my experience! 2. I've heard of so many problems with adaptec, irq conflicts, frequent bus resets, etc. I don't know if the adaptec cards just aren't flexable or if they generally have unstable drivers, but now that the price of dpt has come down to or even below adaptec I would recommend Dpt all the way. In my experience Dpt has a very solid line of drivers and I've run it on OS/2, Dos, Windows 3.1 and 95, and Linux, with no problems Dpt is still pretty small, probably why they still have good products, and they are sort of hard to find.
